I jsut heard about a Canadian company selling a vertical axis turbine designed for home use. Ed Bagley & Jay Leno are both promoting this. the design uses magnets to levitate the turbine which eliminates friction. the design is supposed to work well with the turbulant air around houses and because there's no friction, it works with low wind speeds with no vibration....at least that's the claims.
