Hi All,

In response to wind charge controllers, I had a good look at the www.hydrogenappliances.com SEA-440 Amp Battery regulator. At $169, this is a fairly

steep price to pay for what amounts to no more than a simple voltage window comparator

and what appears to be a Ford type starter solenoid, apparently spray painted silver. The advertiser makes mention of the silver alloy internal contacts which can easily be achieved by apllying silver solder to the contacts of the starter solenoid. All this can be achieved at a cost of $30 tops! As an electrical engineer and HAM Radio Operator, myself, I have a great deal of experience on this subject and find it difficult to spend large amounts of cash for simple circuits. Most 12volt car batteries

will cook out the electrolyte at 15 volts. A far wiser cut out voltage of 13.8 to 14.4

volts will make the battery last longer and reduce maintenance. Just a thought!

Wrong section and whats the point? We all know hydroappliancs is both an asshole and a theig.
