New core on old genny.
« on: June 21, 2004, 01:23:51 PM »
Replacing the OLD core with a New improved core. This one is 12 coils, 65 turns, #15 guage, 16 magnets..Hooking it up as a 3 phase genny. Prob star configuration. Did some basic wiring and stuff last night..waiting for bridge rectifyers. This is an 11 inch disk... IT LOOKS REALLY PROMISING>>> The output current is high and the voltage is high...

I hooked it up in star with bridge rectifyers and get at 120-130 RPM's about 12.50 VDC open voltage. So far so good..

You got any picture about

the magnet disks?

Your stator looks really great!

Which kind of coil forming system

did you use?

Hi Hannu.

This is an upgrade to the old genny. It's on my web page under Building Turbines.

The coil former i made is a crank and the center was delibratly set very narrow, I really wanted no hole in the center of the coil at all but this was the best I could do, so I alongated and narrowed them. Which allowed more coil space and by getting rid of the hole almost in the center coil allowed me to fit the 12 coils in an 11 inch inner diamter rotor. I inside hole is less then 1/2 inch wide. I viewed the whole coil as a single pole in this design.
