Propeller for Ametek30 ?
« on: July 22, 2004, 01:04:35 AM »
I just got an Ametek30 and I'm not sure how to get the most out of it in lower winds. How many blades should I use and what diameter is suitable for low average winds ?

Any suggestion is welcomed.

Thanks.

Thank you, I just took a look at them and I read few comments. It looks to be a good choice.

Thanks again.

If you would like to learn about blades and do some leg work

here is a link that was posted awhile back that may help.

Finally I hink I'm gonna carve them by myself, it will be much more fun, especially if it's gonna work.

I decided the diameter will be 4ft and I will use the spreadsheet available here to clculate the blades.

Carving your own blades is not really a big deal. I pondered it for a long time before I actually did it. Ive done 3 sets now and they get easier and better every time. Bassood is my choice of lumber though my first 2 sets were pine. JB
