Second bonus scored on weather Station
« on: January 21, 2005, 10:47:40 PM »
Well I hooked up my thermor weather station before christmas and immediately noticed the wind chill value at times was rediculously low (-30C when temp was 0C).

So looking into the package there was a notice that such a problem might exist and to call tech support. After calling I was told a new unit would be sent out and today the new one arrived but never was I asked for the original one. I think that is why they were priced as they were. So now I have 2 receivers one by the computer and the other in the kitchen but first I have to find an adequate power supply. Anyone else get their second reciever(how about you pickster).

Not sure if Radio Shack sold them but I know Home Depot and Walmart had them.

I was looking for one of these before Christmas.

They didn't carry them at Home Depot here, nor Radio Shack.

Then I was informed that Canadian Radio Shack is no longer related to American Radio Shack, I think the salesman said they are owned by Circut City.

Anywho, I stumbled across a weather station at Zellers the other day for $99 CDN seemed a little steep and I had already spent my tool/toy budget money for the week.

Re: AC power for weather station transmitter

Could someone suggest placement of a jack in the transmitter of the Weather Station, to allow using an AC adaptor. I presume a 3v adaptor would be OK. I took the transmitter case apart, and cannot see an really suitable place for a power jack. Perhaps within the battery space , poking out the end? I have power in the garden shack the unit is mounted on, and I cannot put up with battery replacement!

I called Jenifer in customer service at Thermor this morning to replace a defective wind sensor (only goes up to 30-35 KLMs) and she said I need to take it down, pack it and ship it back. Only bought it 9 nmonths ago. Just the taking down and shipping will be costly. Not happy with the service although you said that they simply send out a new one. I'd even pay the shiping. Even if my sensor was still good i could not hook up another one. I certainly would not purchase again if this is the way they request "known" defective product that is a known problem to be returned!!
