Antelope Windmills
« on: February 07, 2005, 10:53:06 PM »
I've been asked to source a supplier for Antelope windmills. A contact of mine has one, a few years old, and is chassing a set of blades for it. The old blades are about 1.4 meters long and had a self furling mechanism in the hub assembly.

Anyone ever heard of these. Have a feeling they were made in Sydney. There is an old Sydney phone number on the casing, but that number is old and no longer connected.

I didn't find them, but while I was Googling away I found this site:

The first two stories were interesting and on-topic (or so I thought!) ;-)

funnels eh?  I wonder what RPM he was looking at achieving.  I wonder if anyone has ever gotten a project like this to work at all.

I suppose it would be something like a hydro turbine, although with a much less dense working fluid at much lower pressure.  I can't say I'm enthusiastic enough to go building a small-scale prototype though. ;-)
