Mast Wiring & Power Diversion

Hello I am a newbie to wind power, so be gentle. :o) I have read all I can and pretty much understand the basics, genny, batterys, diodes, ect., but have a couple of questions. What is the best way to run the wiring from the mast to the ground? Since the genny always turns into the wind, wouldn't this eventually cause the wiring to twist and bind or break?  Maybe I am missing something but I can't seem to find any discussion on the topic.


 Also are there any schematics out there on building your own power diversion circut, once the batteries are fully charged? I thought of using a solenoid, then adding resistance to the solenoid activation circut, so that it engages the solenoid at say 14.5 volts, which would in turn dump power to a load until it falls back below 14.5 volts. Any thoughts on this? I am not sure if the resistance circut would waste too much power to make this feasable. Any and all ideas are welcome. This site is a great source of info.
