« on: June 22, 2007, 01:51:20 AM »
it has taken about 6 months but my 10' axial flux is now together / and it is working

I had it on a 12' stand tonight and managed go get 50v open ac  out of it

the air gap is still 1 1/2 inchs Ill have to wait untill the weekend to test everything else

I have 70 wraps of #14 with 2x1x.5 n42 mags on 12"x 1/2 disks

hoping it will work for 24v battery charging

I have already had one oops  a gust of wind blew it off the test stand before I managed to get some weight to hold it down it broke the two plywood discs but  did not break the blades (:  got really lucky i think..

off to start the next  project.. 5hp baldor 460v conversion

i have pictures but still dont know how to post them here i have uploded them to the site

thanks to all for the help along the way

That test stand post looks like a basement floor jack.  Not sure of the right term:  It's the sort that a row of 'em, one ever 6 or so feet, are used to support the central beam of a first floor over a full-height basement with a concrete floor.

Is that right?

I have found the quick way to make a test tower is to use a piece of pipe one size larger the tower pipe and about 30" long drive it into the ground a little at a time pulling it back out every 6" or so clean out the earth and repeat til it is flush with the ground. Now take a 15' length of your tower pipe and stand inside of your sleeve then Ican slip the gennie on from 1 lift of staging.

Good job!!!

Sorry about the fall off the test stand. You're right about being lucky!!!

Maybe that's a sign you should buy a lottery ticket!!!!

The best way to "kill time" is to work it to death!
