Last last year I posted a message about the work we were doing down under on some extruded PVC blades. http://www.fieldlines.com/story/2008/10/22/91517/727
Well the PVC extruded blades are finally ready for market. Yes, this is shameless self promotion
Early results are good. The blades run very quiet, you could almost call them silent, and they work very well in low winds. The extrusion has a chord of 160mm (6.3inch), and lengths up to 3000mm are available. Price is $25au (about $18us) per meter (3foot 3inch), plus delivery.

Glenn.
They do look very similar to the profile and shape of the Bergey XL1 blades that I used recently, they were superb, made from an extruded carbon composite if I recall.
A nice product to offer.
1.2kg per meter for the PVC only. You need to add the steel tube, this gives the blade its strength. One of my forum members built a 3.1m ( 10foot ) turbine, each blade was 2.9kg ( about 6 pounds ).
