Blade size for PM motor?
« on: April 27, 2005, 01:38:07 AM »
I have a 1/2 HP, 180 volt, 1750 rpm, 2.5 amp PM motor on it's way to me. Any words of wisdom on what size blades I should start with? I hope to try cutting PVC blades for it. Thanks,

Jerry,

Thanks for the reply. Would that be a set of 2' blades making 4' diameter or 4' blades sweeping 8'?

More importantly, how did you get that #? I've looked at the blade-calculating spreadsheets but they seem to have too many variables for me to "solve for blade length".

By-the-way, I would love to swing by The Audio Source on a windy day and admire your set up. Phone book says 1750 McGilchrist?
