« on: March 22, 2006, 09:42:47 PM »
If I could remember the name I could search for

it on Google...anyway I just figured on making

one using plastic bags for the triangular sails

....you know...the one where as one opens

into the wind it pulls a cord and closes it's

alternate ....Hey...what can I say? the mind's

goin' !

           Thanks Guys!

I think it's called a Paxton mill, Dave Paxton.

I've also seen a video somewhere of one called a green mill or something like that, it was tethered on a central pole and could be set up quickly or moved easily, the generator functioned as the base.

Yes Tinker...that's it thanks a whole lot! Now I

can start working on it soon as I finish a couple

of other top priority projects.

Spent all morning waiting for the wind to kick up

a little so I could try the CD disk thing...

finally about noon got about a 6mph wind...works

good now to hook it up to a pump thru the reduction gear of a wiper motor might be slow..

but it ough to have plenty of torque.

Take care and again...thanks a lot!

Norm, The patent number for that machine is 5,823,749 if you want to check it out.   Patents are sort of a builders guide and are quite informative.
