I found this motor, and was wondering if its good to build a wind genny? without modifing it, I am new to this but I love the thought of builing a wind generator.

   Yes, it will generate a little power.  But be warned that it is not robust enough for long term running.  The bearings are not up to the load a blade set will impose on the shaft.  The brushes will not hold up long term.  But for a first attempt it will generate a few amps with about 3 1/2 foot blades and a fairly high TSR.  Makes for a great learning tool and fairly quick to go together.  This can be a great way to see if you want to get into building a generator from scratch.

How many solar panels do you have, and how many watts do you get from your panels, and what kind of wind speed do you get in your area, and how many amphours are your batteries ?

I have 360 watts of solar I have 2surette rolls 6v 490 amph batts wind speeds to my knowlege are around 12 miles/hour just a guess there is no draw on the batts in the winter, other than what the small alarm system draws 300mi amps so I need just a few amps to keeep the batts up and warm

Do a simple search on this site

you will learn more than enough from reading about them.

They are usually just mounted without furling but thats up to you.

I've had a 30 VDC one up for more than a year, using just ceiling fan blades and they can't hold up to the 50+ mph winds I get here.

Jerry's blades would work very well for this.

I don't think just one of them will replace your 300 watts of solar panels though.

I see about 40 watts out of my 50 volt 7" long Ametek with 49" Jerry blades at 12 mph.

Keep in mind that you'll be needing to get to aroung 450rpm to charge at 12vdc -- that's a bit higher than I aim towards, personally.  Of the ameteks that I find easy to acquire, I like the 30vdc unit the best.
