A floating wind generator?

Here's a story on using balloons and kites to generate power.  Perhaps it will spark new ideas on the homefront.

Kind of old news, discussed it before. May be worth revisiting tho.

I have reached the point of disreguarding claims by anyone if they do not have a working unit with test results. Ideas are great but turning an idea into a working wind turbine usually runs into problems with material and economic feasibility.

The folks your link talks about got a jump start from a military grant to develop high altitude refueling stations. Ahh tax money at work. The first idea did not work out and this floating wind turbine probably will not either. I had hoped that it would but when the units failed to appear on any of the several dates announced it was forced into the class of big ideas that are always waiting for future developements.
