New wind turbine up
« on: April 17, 2008, 08:23:27 AM »
Hello all,

Just thought I would drop a line to let you guys know that

another wind

turbine went into service today. I have been working closely with a

friend to finish building his tower and install his Whisper 1000. At

approx 1500hrs pacific time, we filpped the switch and the turbine

started up. This was after erecting his 66 ft home built self

supporting tower, around lunch. The interesting thing was there hardly

any wind at ground level but there was still enough wind up top to

generate up to 240 watts(10A-28V). Need less to say we were quite

pleased. Anyway we are located in the SE corner of Washington State. We

taped the erection of the tower and the final start up. If anyone is

interested I'll pull some images off of the tape and post them.

Whenever anyone says "I'll post pictures if you want me to", I always want to see the pictures.

I just read the other post by this user. He never made a reply to any of them even the one where he was selling a ten kw hydro. I think he is just screwing around with us.

jmk;

I tend to agree. His initial posts were pimping a blade program. Many of his comments are one liners similar too "Do not do that" or "This is a bad idea"

I guess if he does not respond to this he will join the readers club. In that club they only get to read the forum and cannot post.

We see lots of that. Post a story / question then disappear. Its one thing I would actively pursue if the boss's policy was not "hands off".

Hi guys, I have nothing to add here, and I'm completely off subject, feel free to delete my post!

I just hope I'm not going to get lumped into 'reader's only', I know I've asked a couple of questions and 'disappeared', but it's just that I'm trying to find the time to complete my project. I've taken plenty pics of my process and all, it's nothing original, but I'll be happy to share my experience in a diary when ready, and when it's up!

(I'm recently a papa, so it's hard to find the time, but I'm often on this site for research and am becoming hooked, you all know what it's like!)

Anyway, good wind.
