what should the wire size be and the # of turns be for a cut in speed of around 7 mph

for 48v and what is the current recipie for casting

also...

a couple of mods

this hub is a late model either ford or chevy, i dont rember, front 4wd, 6 lug hub, $50.00 @the bone yard, bolted onto a channel and tacked onto an offset pipe

possibly something for the 20' machine

does anybody have the specs for that one

the wire hanging is a sensor for the abs

3 of six studs are shown

the disks were water cut $90.00

the stainless bands are welded to the disks and have lots and lots of tiny tacks and ark strikes that i will buff out

all stainless hardware

If the rotor disks are 14 inch and the magnets are 2" x 1" x 1/2" N42 and the blades are as per my 2005 plans then I now recommend using 90 turns per coil.  Wire size is 15 gauge.  Nowadays I am actually recommending a larger magnet rotor and faster blades for that size turbine.

I have just finished my 2008 plans which is a recipe book of different size turbines. The snag is that it is all in metric sizes and the magnets are 46 x 30 x 10 mm and everything is in mm.  It was just too much for me to do English units along with all the different size turbines and different voltages etc.  But I do plan to make another edition before too long, with suitable dimensions for the US reader.

have fun

Hugh
