How long do they last
« on: August 20, 2008, 12:26:34 AM »
Ok, I have a question for all you guys that have built there own wind turbine.  How long have they been up and running?  I was curious to find out.  I did some searching of the board but never really came up with a good answer.  Some was destory cuz of too much wind or mechanical failure.

I couldn't tell you. It depends on the quality of construction, and the climate you fly it in. I have had machines up for years and they have been fine. They would have gone much, much longer without attention. The last couple years, the longest I have flown a machine in probably around 3 or 4 months. Then I just make a new / better one and just replace it. Its a never ending process. Im sure a lot of others will agree.  :-)

It was time to change this months Poll question so I made your question into this months Poll. You can see the question on the main page on the righthand side and down a little ways.
