need simple 2A 28V boost circuit
« on: July 26, 2008, 05:21:09 AM »
Okies I'm building an electric bike, powered by 24V 2x12 SLA 7Ah and 2X 12V 7.8Ah SLA cells. However here's the catch. I would like to use my solar bank to charge it and I can't really see myself dragging the cells out of the bike hooking them up to the solar bank to charge them, A more efficient way would be to design a circuit that will provide 28V 2A to charge the SLA's in series (one bank at a time)from my abundant(well sort of) solar power.

So I need to make 12V into 28V in a quick and easy way, got plenty of boards around with mosfets transistors/ resistors and caps I can salvage Just need to figure out how to build a simple circuit. Been looking at a bunch of circuits, however no one really explains it easy enough for me to understand.

I'm not an electronics wiz, But I can solder and I really want to put my environmental friendly power to good use.

Let me know if you guys have any knowledge in this area.

Buy a car laptop power adaptor.  I have a couple in front of me that are adjustable to 24V at several A, so 28V may be achievable.
