More APC Info, Trade In
« on: October 19, 2004, 04:00:11 PM »
Hello,

As I find possible helpful info I plan on sharing it with the board.

I called APC after modifying my battery bank to 48v.

The Rep informed me of a trade up program.

Looks like you can trade in your dead units, the more VA you trade the more credit. And Yes you can add them up. The rep said up to 40% off.

I have asked, and this does not apply to the refurb site.

Here is the link

Well I'm now on a 48v battery bank, blown up several DC Light bulbs, Ripped apart a smartUPS 1400 to see how it works, and Have no way of of using my energy even when my 403 starts spinning occasionaly, No 48v Inverter.

Spent most of the day Plasticing and Caulking the windows.

I do however have the "LAB", a Very messy work bench, on its own power, better than most.

Alls Well.

you can buy used 2200 VA APC UPS's for less than $100 if you look around. They will have dead batteries but why would you care.

Are you by any chance an afiliate, is that what the TeamID is in your link??

Just wondering.

If their retail prices are anywhere near the prices that were listed on that refurb site, then I think they are maybe 40% to high in the first place.

My UPS,

Thier reburb price $118

Their LIST Retail price was $200

My retail price I actually paid is $118 plus tax at Sams Club.

Course maybe others are better deals, I just compare what I know and have bought, so still worth looking at I geuss. Just be aware you might be able to get better deals retail at a store.
