Backward thinking
« on: December 10, 2004, 01:46:09 PM »
I have a bunch of PM DC brush type motors, which as most know, don't work well for generators due to the brushes.  So here's the idea....  Hook the blade to the outer casing, remove the brushes, mount the shaft, solder onto the commutator for the leads.  What do you all think?

Sounds like a brakedrum mill... without adequate bearings and engineering... and a smaller diameter for less power...and lacking a good way to mount the blades...
