I just got a amtek motor from ebay it produces really good but what I would like to know is what is the brown wire for?

Should be an earth ground. What size or model is it?

yep it is an earth ground after i posted this i lokked at it more and removed the small cover over the wires and ound that the brown wire is hooked to the body of the motor. as for the size the numbers are all scratched up but it does read 37 v dc nominal.
