Question for Norm
« on: January 13, 2005, 10:15:08 PM »
Hey there. I was looking at a post you had awhile ago about blower motors from cars. The pic you showed had the motor apart. What kind of car was it from? I have one from an old GMC pick up and it doen't seem to come apart. I was going to try to re-wind it just to learn and see what I can get out of it. I was able to light a red LED just by spining it by hand.(very cool) Do you know what types come apart? Maybe I could exchange this one for one that comes apart. Thanks

I'm not sure mine are for blowers. Mine have 2 screws. They don't appear to hold anything except the top to the bottom.  I can't even guess how they were mounted.

Pounded a chisel into the split, twisted, then a screwdriver, working around. They fit tight.

Careful, I ruined a few like this. Mangled them. No chance to get them back together.
