Whats a good battery monitor
« on: March 04, 2006, 10:39:03 AM »
Hi there,

Im intending to buy a battery monitor to monitor by solar input, hydro input and my inverter use. I cant find a lot of them on the internet, but maybe the pentametric is interesting.

you can see it on;

Becouse I live in Portugal and there is no European distributer I want to have some input from the Pentametric or other battery monnitor users first before ordering it.

Well, since nobody has replied...

It is my understanding that this chaps earlier product, the Trimetric, was basically standard fare for off-grid systems. I've been in about a half-dozen off-grid houses and they almost all had a Trimetric on the wall.

The Pentametric is his new-and-improved product and only became available as of about a year ago. Depending on your system, the Trimetric might be all you need, and it's cheaper.

For what its worth, amp gauges, you and a good hydromiter. Any fancy metering does not take into account losses IMHO.

The best battery monitor is the one you use all the time.
