New monitor panel/box

Today I managed to complete the my monitor box. Here are some pictures of it:

The new box has at the top, the cigarette socket splitter, the charge controller, then the ammeter and voltmeter.

The ammeter is showing -0.01A because of the draw from the charge controller. It is just about dark here so the panels aren't giving out anything.

The overall cost of this box was minimal, costing just a few pounds for the wood. The paint was found lying around at my Grandads house and so did the screws holding it together.

I will be adding a page to my site soon to show the building of this and the solar panel stand and battery box (Which I am still working on).

Nice work Abyss, I'm saving up for a watts up meter (or Dr Watson) monitor, does all of the above, except charge control and fits in your shirt pocket, it is expensive though.... $50 in U.S, and £50 in U.K, very odd

Ive seen those before, they look really nice, however thats only a meter. Its not a charge controller and cigarette lighter sockets as well :-)

Ive been looking into charge controlers, can you tell me what you think of it as there not cheap.

Well despite the first issues I had when I got it (down to my own stupidity) it works brilliantly. It does the job its supposed to. It floats at the voltage you set in the menu etc and its very easy to use.

They may not be cheap but you won't be disappointed if you get one.

Yes its the 16A one. If you do get one don't forget to plug in the temp probe! It looks like a power plug and goes into the back where you would expect power to. This was my stupidness when I got mine. I ended up messing with the POT's inside and messed up the calibration. I put it back as best I could but its not 100%. :-)
