Pvc blades; spend a lot of the time at less than the 12v cut-in voltage. Rather than go to a 6v system, is it feasible to connect 2 6 volt batteries in series and
charge them separately? I realize that there is not much power in the lower wind speeds, but a cut-in of 8-9 mph sure looks better than 11-14 mph.
I'm NOT an electronic Wiz, so try to keep that in mind with your comments or suggestions. My thoughts are as follows:
1st. That the switching be done via electronics.
2nd. That each battery be sampled for voltage and initial charging begin on the lowest voltage one.
3rdly. That when the 2 batteries are fairly close in voltage, then battery switching would commence at a PWM rate.
4thly. At some point, when the seriesed battery voltage is of a certain value; then the alternate switching would cease and the generator output would be across both batteries.
This scheme could be 180 degrees from the Power curve?? It seems to me, that there should be some way to utilize PWM switching to get a reasonable match to the Curve.
Yes, I have looked at boost converters, but not built one. Your comments.
