New life for old fluros
« on: July 07, 2010, 05:12:37 PM »
I was dumping stuff at the towns recycle center when I spotted this dead 13W fluro.  Since I am at camp and short of electronic parts I grabbed it.  Always looking for a base for LED assemblies.  Cracked off the glass and top plastic just snaps in.  Filed off the two plastic mounting nubs on top and hot melt glued the 21 LED assembly on.  Makes a clean looking assembly.

These are $2 China ebay boards that just have a resistor.  These are only used at night when the battery is at rest condition so they are operating at the low end of the current range.
