Big old aluminum heat sink
« on: July 17, 2010, 01:05:54 PM »
From a 1980's Panasonic stereo amp given me by a coworker for scrap. The output side had lots of burned out components and the stereo had been repaired once, so I kept a 12k uF capacitor and this heat sink. It's 8" across and 2 3/8" deep. I don't know if the Darlington Power Packs still work, I suspect not based on the damage to the rest of the speaker side power circuit. That was the limiting factor in output quality using a DPP. If you had a solid power supply then they produced decent sound.

The stereo looked a lot like this one.  http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://hifigoteborg.se/store/images/Pioneer%2520SX-590%2520front.JPG&imgrefurl=http://hifigoteborg.se/store/description.php%3Fid%3D689&h=480&w=640&sz=59&tbnid=VfWFVC6ytVRKRM:&tbnh=103&tbnw=137&prev=/images%3Fq%3Ddarlington%2Bpower%2Bpack&usg=__IGdV3HBvLjRrcZyIBYOLsgVPD6s=&sa=X&ei=_eFBTOjsDML58AaIpNkX&ved=0CDIQ9QEwBA

If someone wants it you can have it for the cost of shipping. US addresses only. I take Paypal or personal check. Shipping should be less than $7 unless you don't have a UPS deliverable address and have to use the Mail. My email is my user name at yahoo dot com. Put heat sink in subject line so it won't be ignored as spam.
