Help with battery identfication
« on: July 21, 2010, 12:29:37 PM »
I was given a set of used telco batteries, but he didnt remember much about them. They are made by Deka and the racks say deka unigy on them.
I googled deka unigy but couldnt find much on the 2v series. They have 6 terminals on them and are about 140 lbs each. I would like to find out what the float voltage should be as well as the charge voltage. They each read about 2.18 volts now.
Thanks for any help.
George

More than likely those are agm.

Float voltage should be around 2.25vpc not including temperature compensation.

Bulk voltage should be should be between 2.35 to 2.40vpc nearer the 2.40vpc if you are discharging beyond 20% dod.

I have some GNB absolyte IIP and this is the regime I been using successfully for the past year and half. The construction and composition of both batteries are close enough for you to  use the charging regime I am using.

Cheers...
