Vensys 1.2 Mw
« on: August 23, 2010, 08:58:46 AM »
Hello everyone,

Does anyone know where I might be able to get spare parts for a Vensys 1.2 Mw turbine?

Or does anyone know where I can get some made?

I would not like this thread to degenerate into a discussion into whether wind turbine manufacturers have a moral duty to
support the turbines that they manufacturer

suffice to say Vensys do not have any parts for their 1.2 Mw turbine  ::)

Not sure you will get any hits here. Most are home built units.
Where pray tell did you pick up a 1.2MW turbine?
Depending of the specifics of what you need, you may be able to visit a local machine shop.

Best if Luck!

Bruce;

Google shows this same text on multiple fora with no help so these must be odd ducks. I never heard of them until this post and I  Googled.

True that most of the "locals" know DIY and a fewer know the commercial units.

Sadly, crappy post sale support is the norm these days.

TomW;
 ALL to true. I'd never heard of them and used BING :). Pretty pictures :).
The unit closest I can find is a 1.5MW unit and 1 wing is longer than most Semis passing it by.

Bummer part is that this is his 1st post too.

Those iron workers are about to become as important as they were for hoseshoes.

Cheers

My machinist / iron monger  buddy can make most parts if you have the old part or bring him the unit and its not too exotic on material. Castings too. It ain't cheap, though, even on the buddy plan  :o

I'll bet his product has the high quality as the 60's USA cars or the 90s Japanese cars.
I don't mind paying for quality.

Hythorn:
Apologies for going off on a tangent on your first post!!
Happens here a lot   ;)

http://www.thewindpower.net/wind-turbine-datasheet-technical-270-vensys-77.php  They were German. That makes sense. The Chinese have lots of cash and the Germans have a reputation for precise technology. Hey, even the Germans have lots of money, it's just that they loaned it to other EU countries who don't seem to be able to pay it back.

http://www.indigowindenergy.com/IndigoWES-Products-Vensys.html   Here is the unit he is asking about. The Vensys 64 is rated at 1200 KW.  64 is the rotor diameter in meters  :o  Not something you could easily go to a local machine shop to make parts for  :o

Thank you all so much for your help

I am in the process of setting up a network of disgruntled Vensys owners.
I know more or less which parts are likely to give out in advance and armed with that knowledge I can get them fabricated before they fail

Vensys refuse to support their own 1.2 turbines in any shape or form
Goldwind do indeed own 70% however there are not too many parts interchangeable with Goldwind

CKD in Prague had a licence to produce them but they no longer stock parts

Are there any other forums which you would recommend?

not that I am not delighted with this one  :)

Might I suggest a lawyer? IF there are enough people and they span continents an Attorneys General in your state of Bugermeister in Germany would be a very good start.

Best of Luck;
