servo motor connectors
« on: September 01, 2010, 08:06:38 PM »
I have an unusual sevo motor I want to try out and did not get
the wire connector with it when I bought it.

My neighbor is a machinist who works on airplane parts,  was
able to help by giving me a connection to a place that supplies the
aero-space industry.  They have all the connectors for servo motors.

Connection World in the Seattle area.  If you can't find these
connectors look them up or I can help out if I can.

I thought this was really cool they aren't far from me and I've
been looking to get this motor going for awhile.  I was going
to just make a junction box on the motor and use wire crimp
connectors to the bayonet pins.

It would have been out of stuff from home depot so I knew I could
do better.  Well I found the place to get the real thing.

The catalog says this connector and the size smaller uses #8 wire
and rated to 78 amps . I also bought a bunch of shrink wrap to
really make a  professional connection to the motor. It was about $30.

MS3456W20-4S (just a guess)  ::)

Check out catalogs on the webpages for Amphenol or ITT Canon...  I think Glenair has a similar line.  The extremely specific specification you are looking for is MIL-C-5015, and it defines everything you could possibly imagine about a connector.  Unless, of course you wanted the even more hi-tech connectors, in which case you would go up to MIL-C-26482, or go totally gangbusters and get a MIL-C-38999 type.

Sorry - went all nerd on ya there!
No one believes the theory except the one who developed it. Everyone believes the experiment except the one who ran it.
