Winter re-jig
« on: September 30, 2010, 09:30:43 AM »
Hi,

Today was due to be my last day with my main client, but because playing with solar panels seemed like it would be a lot more fun, and the off-grid battery was well into the 'amber' zone on the controller, ie under 12V, after a run of gloomy days, I have instead today been putting back up my 60Wp set of 70deg-tilted TopRay amorphous 'winter' set which otherwise spends the summer in my shed.

I haven't finished putting up junction boxes, etc, to finish the job, since my toddler is having his afternoon nap, but I have lashed up a temporary connection and the battery is looking a *lot* happier!

Ah!  It's soooooo dark and gloomy today (a few percent of full sunshine levels) that even the additional panels are hardly making a difference.  Bv<
