the car voltage regulator Can I use
« on: October 18, 2010, 03:30:03 PM »
Hello
I have some questions please help me.
First question: There are generators in the car voltage regulator
Can I taken out of the generator and use of the magnetic generator and thus can regulate the entry voltage of the battery?
Second question: I have a magnetic power generator took the generator of Trelladmilll Is wind power project needs to be more of a battery?
Battery 12 volt 70 amp
Thank you  ::)

You can not use a car voltage regulator.  It works completely different.

70AH is enough for most treadmill wind power projects.
It should have a dump load controller.

70AH battery is a car battey or an SLA?
Car batteries will not work long when used as a deep cycle battery.
SLA batteries need regulated to a lower peak voltage.

Mr.ghurd
I am very grateful to you
Useful Information
I will use the car battery for lighting only
I think that one battery is enough with the lights of the type Fluorescent
Thank you

A car voltage regulator controls the alternators voltage/current by adjusting the field current to the alternator, your treadmill motor has a fixed field that is the magnets, that is why the car regulator does not work.

As G said you need a simple dump load regulator set at say 14V, with a dump load to suit the output of the treadmill motor, look at the bottom of G's post click on his site link it just happens he can sell you one. For a simple system your battery will work.
