Those look better than most telephone poles in my part of the world.
Wish I had some of that alder for smoking meat. Mesquite smoking gets old
sometimes but I do have some apricot wood that makes an absolutely fabulous smoked brisket or pork ribs.
Thurmond
Thurmond, I used to truck down into the US and only made it into Texas once, for 3 weeks while my truck was repaired in Amarillo. It would take me a long time to get tired of mesquite! There has to be some old orchards around that'll let you clean up the dead stock, eh? If there was a cheap way to ship you an alder tree, I'd do it! I wonder how much Fed Ex would charge...........
Time to haul out the ax, maul, and wedges.
Or chain saw and wood splitter?
Don't forget the Advil!
ax7
No axe, but cutting it small enough for the pickup truck and trailer to haul it the last 3 miles up to our place. Been wearing out my old Ford going back and forth every day.
Then the chainsaw, wedges and maul, wheel barrow and step ladder to get it stacked up to the roof of the woodshed......
And I never even thought of Advil. I do have sore muscles that I didn't even know I had!
A wood splitter, now that WOULD be NICE! We don't have any young bucks in the "neighborhood" anymore, so I can't even get some cheap labor. My wife says the the word "lazy" isn't to be used to describe me!
Ah, country life, I do love it....
