Flying magnets
« on: February 15, 2011, 03:22:05 PM »
Hi all was just testing my first coil on my new eight pole mag rotor. It was 51 turns not sure of the guage ~1/16th of an inch.I was using my cordless drill which says( vsr 0-450/0-1650/min) I'm assuming it means 1650 rpm but not sure? I started out slow ,then gradually increased speed ,I'm guessing I was between half -three quaters full speed when bang, crash, clang magnets were flying!
! .It took me over an hour to find them all, luckily none were broken ,the walls didn't fair so well ,one nice hole and a bunch of dents, this is in the spare bedroom by the way,"the wife just dosen't understand"lol..All in all I think it was a success because before things went flying I was reading 1.3vac, if I could have got to full speed who knows what the reading might have been?? Are these #'s fairly good for just using ferrite magnets??..........well got to go rebuild a rotor......thanx for reading........artv
