Battery Help 48 volts from 4*12volt batteries.

I have 4 lorry batteries I wish to set up as 48v for a test system, is this "doable" I think it probably resolves around putting 2 lots of 2 together, I have searched online and cant seem to find the info , any help appreciated.

If they are 12v then just connect all 4 in series for 48v.

if you are using old unknown batteries connecting them is series is the only way really. if you try to connect them in parallel you will have problems unless they all have the same. or near enough the same internal resistance. this is very unlikely unless they are the same age, type , and off the same system. you could try equalising them but i have never had much luck doing that. old lorry batteries wont last long but might get you up and running, and give the turbine some load. don't expect them to last long though.

Thanks for the picture, picking up 2 new batteries soon , interesting 24 diagram using 6x 12v batteries .
