pole size

Hi All,...I was thinking about making bigger poles(magnetic)....Is there a limiit to bigger magnets , bigger coils??........
I know I will have increase rotor dia. ......but if the coil is the,.. primary (micro-wave transformer) .....~1"....thick
the poles would have to be ~3"each...??...........
I was just thinking those windings look too nice to tear apart......make a magnet to suit the coil.....thanks.......artv

Just an update..... I made big poles with pieces of magnet , different shapes and sizes,...It did'nt make much difference, in the out put,............more than two magnets in a stack ,.....defeats the purpose...........what I've seen so far.......artv
