Now that was a fun one to watch but meer water wouldn't do the trick, if going to the trouble of stopping cats the best way would just use a 555 based circuit and a car coil. Lay a series of wires down in the cats path then when the PIR is tripped 20,000 volts and that would be a classic to watch..... especially when it landed on the wires again.......

Cruel me NOWAY a bit twisted I suppose.......

It kinda goes with gardening because cat pee will destroy plants and you won"t thew slightest idea whats going on
 until the cat unit is spotted

I can see that door lock activator operating the trigger on a .22 rifle loaded with the mostly useless "bird shot". Wouldn't really damage them much but they would remember it longer than the hosing

    I was thinking the same as Tom, only course salt.
    I had the displeasure to receive a dose of that once, (details  NOT shared) and I still remember
the feeling 45 years later.  I guess you could call that effective.

Standard .22 LR is cheaper and more effective.

Forgive me, I have a neighbor who feeds 'free range' cats. There is an ordinance against dispatching them with firearms.

Friggin awesome!

Gets the gears turning for the four that live (mostly) inside my house!

So far my favorite toy for them involves highly compressed gasses and a little vibrating metal plate in a plastic funnel... >X-D

Probably wouldn't go over so well with the neighbors if it were applied to an automatic system such as this to run them off at night.

Probably wouldn't go over so well with the wife either.
