Yes you can actually save money by using Alkaline batteries,
all the thousands of people that could be saving money by
using D size Alkaline batteries instead of AA or AAA
batteries.I've used these 4 LED + 1 lights for almost 2 months now...
6-8 hrs. a night !
Just to think of the AAA batteries and $$$$ I would have
wastedif I hadn't used D cells (which cost me $3 (3 for $1) )

I'm especially delighted with my use of 4 D batteries in a tent LED light
( 20 plus 4) that normally take 4 AA batteries .....WoW !
Some of you have used these lights with the 4 AA batteries and noted
that they are pretty bright ....but don't last very long ?
I've only used this one light for a couple of hours but I'm happy with
the potential.
****** Oh sure I could have used NiCads but most of these LED lights **********
were
designed to use alkaline and especially
designed to use AA or better yet $$$AAAs.
Most of these devices are so simple to adapt.....a couple of dummy cells made
from wood dowel rods and bright new shiny thumbtacks on the ends and especially
LED lights get a fairly constant current from Alkaline batteries
D size that do a better job
than NiCads in this particular case.
