Water heaters have zink anodes. There are zink rods for swamp coolers. O2 concentraters used for home use put out 95% O2

Yes thanks . Actually I can now get lots of zink from the scrapyards , as I found out most die cast parts like elec motor casings etc , are mostly zink alloys . In this country , the poor have to smash the casings up to get to the copper , so its already separated .

I grind the chunks into filing size little chips, and thats my top layer of zink , wrapped in cotton cloth for absorption of the electrolyte and also exposed to air for oxygen . Coiled copper wire is below that in the container of potassium hydroxide (lye) , and lets see how good this is !

Chemically I haven't a clue whats going on , but I'm piecing the puzzle together from bits and pieces I read about , and improving all the time . The container is now only slightly bigger than the "D" cell in volume , but is becoming a flat and wide "fuel cell" battery .
