DIY Solar my first two efforts
« on: July 12, 2012, 05:54:54 PM »
Been messing around with the solar cells I got from China.

My first efffort was all nicely laid out on a board , when it fell off and got alot of cracks and broken wires , so I ended up laying a sheet of fibreglass on a plastic sheet , pouring a load of hardener / resin , on the fibregalss and laying the cells on top , it works and produces between 16-18 colts .

My second effort ( better looking one )is a panel with 6 rows of 4 cells and produces 12.8 ish overcast and 14 volts sunny.

I do have a basic controller which I will be getting plugged in at the weekend.

Here is a 2min video showing the panels.

This is a learning curve , my first panel was hindered by my poor work "area", also the next panel I make, I still have 75 cells left will have proper wires installed.

Cheers
