big fork truck batteries
« on: October 06, 2012, 08:39:41 AM »
What are your ideas about using big heavy forktruck batteries for a wind turbine setup. Are   they considered about as good as it gets or are there better batteries to consider?   Thanks, Bio Diesel Man

Doesn't matter what kind of battery you use as long as you can cycle them properly. Too large a battery will sulfate if not charged properly. Forklift batteries are made to be cooked (I'm assuming you are talking about the large flooded type).

If you have a mill and the wind doesn't blow for a week, is your backup source big enough to properly recharge the battery?
