some good motors on fleabay...
« on: October 27, 2012, 02:31:09 PM »
hey-
i just bought my second FANUC brand three phase servo motor from ebay, for some reason there are a bunch of them on there cheap right now.  (as in cheaper than buying neos alone for the same sized machine...)

the first one i bought has a name plate of 2000rpm, 20A, and 140V.  it puts out 500w regularly and up to 1000w in high winds (24v system) with at 8.5' blade set.

i just bought another one that's identical to the first, except the case is slightly different and the voltage is stamped at 146v.

i'm just trowing this out there for anyone looking for a starter mill that maybe doesn't have the fab skills/machines like others here.

*disclaimer* i don't know this seller, or even know how hard it's gonna be to remove the built in brake, ect, ect, ect. *don't blame me if you can't get the thing to work*   but i just bought one identical to the link below, so we'd be in it together.  FYI, i lowballed on the "offer" function from a different seller they accepted.

I'm thinking that this one might even be suitable for a 24V battery charge system:

The seller doesn't want to ship to Canada (his loss) but quick numbers would make me consider it.  Except that the price is also too steep, but as Adam said, you can often negotiate a better price by making a reasonable offer.
No one believes the theory except the one who developed it. Everyone believes the experiment except the one who ran it.
System spec: 135w BP multicrystalline panels, Xantrex C40, DIY 10ft (3m) diameter wind turbine, Tri-Star TS60, 800AH x 24V AGM Battery, Xantrex SW4024

 Hey Adam,

I believe that this one is the exact motor that you used wasn't it?
