Hi All

Hi All.

My name is Cobus and I'm from sunny South Africa.

I have a general interest in alternative power and I've started "playing" around with a small wind turbine I've constructed from a permanent magnet motor.

I hope I can learn much more here on this forum.

Thanks Adam. Like I said it is a small wind turbine. the motor specs are: 220VDC, 1.8Amps at 3200rpm. I've used 4"/100mm PVC pipe for blades and I get a reading of 12V and  0.1Amps at 175rpm.

Currently I have the small wind turbine about 5m/16 feet above ground level unfortunately we have a lot of trees and I'm going to have to get it higher to get proper wind on the blades. The 100mm/4inch pvc blades I'm currently using are no good but I'm still experimenting and learning a lot in the whole process.
