solar panel mounting clips
« on: January 21, 2013, 01:00:40 PM »
Hi All,

I am in the middle of building a rack for 4.3kW worth of panels. I am using 1 1/4" angle iron. I would like to find a clip to hold the panels to the rack without having to line up and drill all of the mounting holes. I have been looking for clips but with no luck so far. I would need a "C" shaped clamp, a little less than an 1/8" wide. Any suggestions? Someone must make such a thing, for some purpose.

The profile looks something like this, except this is on it's side.  But basically, I need a clip between the two pipe symbols ||.

Thanks!

ProSolar has fairly inexpensive mid-clamps and end clamps that may work.  They use a channel nut that would lodge pretty well between the angle iron, but the details might be pretty difficult depending on what you're doing.
