any thought on these brands/types
« on: March 16, 2014, 01:01:40 PM »
local shop has some good deals, cheaper than used ones, I only want a couple panels, maybe 4 for a modest 24v battery bank to run some powertools, 4 panel may be too much come to think of it I am not sure how often I will be using them.

couple panels is not a significant purchase anyway just curious, mono or poly I know there is some debate on that too

Hi Georgec,

About 6 months ago some one raised this topic about different manufacturer PV panels.

see .......  http://www.fieldlines.com/index.php/topic,147666.0.html

I did 2 reply/posts and listed European suppliers for many Brands. The manufacturers in Europe are slightly different than our US cousins as they are re-branded with different end user names. Prices are pretty static at the moment, but it is possible to get a 250w Mono top quality brand at £160.

At present I am happy installing Mono as they still give a 10% output on dim days in ambient light. Although 10 years ago Mono were rubbish, and I had some test modules fail within 5 years.

Trust this helps.
