Bearings used on top and bottom of assembly
« on: June 09, 2014, 10:50:52 PM »
I know that most wind turbines are mounted on 2 inch pipe, but what type of bearings for rotation are used to rotate the entire assembly (not the blades).  Is it just a capped outer pipe outside another pipe with a brass washer( Flat round bushing )?  Pictures will be greatly appreciated.

Y,

We used a bronze graphite thrust washer sandwiched between two flange washers.

Thank you for your reply.  I'm greatful.  What size pipe did you use and do you have a part number for your bushing?
Thank you, John
