Wire Saw for Blade Shaping?

Was wondering if anyone has tried using a "wire saw" for blade shaping?  It seem to me they might be useful for the type of blade that is twisted but flat in the width-wise direction in front.  I have made blades BTW with that profile using a radial arm saw and multiple passes with the cut angle and depth adjusted with each pass.  It worked well but was slow and did not produce a particularly smooth surface.

Maybe wire saws however don't like doing rip cuts (and wear out quickly)?

I would be very concerned about using a wire saw, because it is omnidirectional it would tend to follow the wood grain and wander badly.
Useful for a lot of things but I would think making long straight cuts would be a nightmare.
It might work in a CNC machine but would need extreme blade tension.

You may well be right - a lot of tension and, slow feed rate (if it works at all).
