APCC replacement fan
« on: September 14, 2015, 03:12:28 PM »
Hello All;
I have a APC Symmetra battery backup unit MDL# SYMINIF , I have just about exhausted my ability to find a replacement fan for this unit.
The fan itself is a 4.5" (119x119mm) fan , a Nidec Alpha V TA 450 and mdl# A30135-89.
The label on it show P/N 930467 230Vac - .130/.150 A 50/60HZ.
APC of course says they are out of warranty and do not have any of these fans in stock, even Nidec's website shows them discontinued :(

I thought before I really start trolling the internet of one, I reach out to people here to see if anyone has a spare or know of where I could purchase one.

Many Thanks
Bruce S

120mm (119) is a standard size - assuming you don't need that exact fan you should be able to find plenty of substitutes:

Oh I see - it has extra wires - so guessing it has a tacho output? maybe not so easy.

Any 119mm fan(maybe a 120 if you enlarge the mount holes to fit the screw positions and use washers...) with the same voltage and current and with a tachometer output should work. I could not find the exact specs on the original to do a search.

My thoughts too, but finding one that is 230Vac is proving to be harder than even I thought.
Who knew  ::).
Though I could use a 240Vac unit , would just need to match wires, which shouldn't be too hard.
Nidec still has a pdf of this unit.

Dave,
Thanks for the links!!
Not sure why none of those came up doing a simple goolge-is-your-friend kind of search  :o.

Bruce S; It may be just me but I can almost never find what I want with google or bing but if I use the Yahoo search for some reason I can find things that google never can

Frank S;
I too have that problem from time to time.
I have a few others that I use, but it was either the way I was putting it in or having a senior moment  :P.
I have already order from one from the list Dave sent!!

Thanks
