report KD 465 about VIRYA-1.5 rotor available
« on: October 19, 2018, 06:12:40 AM »
Report KD 465, originally written in 2011, has been reviewed and made public on my website: www.kdwindturbines.nl at the menu KD-reports. The title of this report is: "Calculations executed for the 2-bladed rotor of the VIRYA-1.5 windmill (lambda design = 4.5, steel blades) with generator frame size 71 and original motor shaft". This is a very simple rotor made out of one stainless steel strip size 1500 * 166.6 * 2 mm which is cambered and twisted. It might be possible to use this rotor also in combination with the rather simple 34-pole PM-generator which is described in public report KD 580. This generator uses a shortened stator stamping of a 6-pole asynchronous motor frame size 80.

To show the construction of the small 34-pole generator, I have added a picture as attachment.
