I have a very similiar one, unfortunately mine has copper coated alum wire, and I just may wind another pure copper over top if it until there is no more space between the slots
And upgrade the magnets to deodymes. This way, I can have two cut in speeds, or two attirbutes from having two differant AWG wires wound.
Also, before I forget, find one little spot on your stator wire that is safe to scrape with some good pressure. If it shows shinny, its alum, if it barely changes color from the coating, its copper.
