This is the Mrs project this month.
« on: March 08, 2021, 04:05:48 PM »
Its been a year since me and my youngest 13 year old boy had the symptoms of Covid.

Last year testing was non existent around these places.

Any way after Christmas,  boy was dispatched to Oxford in The UK where he started a new normal School and continued schooling/working Online.

However, the Mrs, who is a Doc and her Professor friend have really got fed up with unqualified and misleading information coming from the Media and Politian folk.  So they produced this independent Document.

My boy went to school today, where socially distanced and masked up the whole 90% of the 700 school was tested following the document of the Mrs. Every one was negative.   Even my boy was negative, but as my Mrs said, " if you had symptoms of Covid a year ago, by now your immunity is lost".

From the School .......

We would also like to share this very informative document; Understanding Lateral flow Antigen Testing Cheney 2021.   Thank you to parents Dr Sally Woods-Bryan, Medical and Life Sciences Writer, and Professor Sarah Wordsworth of the Health Economics Research Centre at the Nuffield Dept. of Population Health for creating this for us.

;D You guys must make the perfect couple.

Mrs Scruff is a Doc too...she's specialising in making organisms edible these days.
I let her sort it out unless it's mechanical or electrical.

I've yet to see the under a year old hypothesis proven scientifically that immunity is ever lost.  Your immune system ebbs and flows to fight challenges at hand.  Just because there is theory about losing immunity doesn't make it true.  Just another statement unfounded in science like how asymptomatic people can spread it.  So far the science debunked that theory.  John Hopkins has been the expert source of information that unfortunately suffers a human component that constantly changes with agendas.

Lost immunity.

I talked to Mrs last night about data on this.

"The problem is that the period of time since the Covid became wide spread is very short to get any real meaningful scientific data on immunity periods".

"They don't know how long it is for - they are currently thinking that it will be like the flu vaccine, so good for a year, studies ongoing."

She then concluded. .....

"My friend Chris Porter who had early covid and donated his plasma, (the clear part of your blood with the white blood cells and antibodies), still has a high level of antibodies almost a year after infection. He has also had his first jab."

So yes MattM, "information that unfortunately suffers a human component that constantly changes with agendas."

Here in France, what a pickle.!

No.  More like "suffers a component of uncertainty that constantly changes with research and new evidence."
I see science as a process of development that takes time to develop rigorous results.  Good answers require patience.
What's amazing is how quickly science was ready to give us a "good enough" answer (in the vaccine).

[edited to remove political comment. Good point, Bruce]

No one believes the theory except the one who developed it. Everyone believes the experiment except the one who ran it.

Sorry, late to this once again. Server updates are no longer fun!! :o
And did I mention I can barely spell SQL  8).

Anyway,,,,
My one fear after reading some of the newest posts is that this discussion will degrade into a political debate.

IF at all possible can we not do that?

FWIW, I used to work for a company that provided FDA approved equipment for drug trials.
Everything from a Phase 1 thru Phase 4 where tens of thousands of people where "tested" and every side-effect was noted and checked. Most of them taking years to pass onto peer-review.

The EXTREME speed at which these have passed through approval on both sides of the pond is astounding to say the least.

Cheers
